From an “anonymous Russian” source, it seems that there is a list of the countries that holds the Guinness of worse password chosen by the users and/or sysadmins. Here’s the top 10 with the percentage of easy guessed passwords on public hosted systems:

  1. Germany –  28.5%
  2. Poland – 11.9%
  3. Italy – 10.8%
  4. Czech Republic – 10.2%
  5. Bulgaria – 4.9%
  6. France – 3.8%
  7. Croatia – 3.2%
  8. Peru – 3.2 %
  9. India – 1.9%
  10. Vietnam – 1.5%

This is just based on the “500 worst” dictionary as found on SkullSecurity. From my and GARL experience, the percentage is dramatically increasing when using localized or more complex dictionaries.
It is just curious that the most concerned country about security after the DataGate revelations is the top one that has security concerns.
